Just wanted to make a quick introduction before I actually make a contribution. I've been putzing around with a 78 C10 with the help of this board and a few others and I just want to say thank you ladies and gentlemen.
I'm a professional collision painter for over 25 years who decided to teach himself some basic mechanic skills starting with my wife's 69 F100 along with our other vehicles and small engines. So far it's been a minor success but I am learning which is the point, mostly.
I ended up with this 78 C10 Silverado from my older brother who had purchased this one and another very similar but built truck because it's the same truck my dad had in the Forest Service when we were little kids. Except it was a dark green..... except when when the two of us decided to paint the truck, the fence, part of a sidewalk, two Airedales, and each other with bright orange flagging paint. My old man just sat down in the yard and laughed at our plight till tears rolled down his face. Due to an injury my brother let the truck sit derelict for two years before I bought it and towed it off to help out. It's a heap in many ways but only has about 10k on a new 350 crate motor and a rebuilt TB350. I'm learning about these trucks now and I appreciate this site as a resource.
Thanks guys!
