Here is the condensation I'm getting. 66 high in the day and 48 overnight low. The back window is out right now, waiting on the correct size sash tape.

I was going to cut a piece of foam and put it up in one of the bays for my driveway experiment to see if the condensation is BECAUSE the roof was bare but I got impatient and decided to ask!

Someone with a higher level of thermodynamics understanding than myself (which wouldn't be much!) could probably give me better advice but do I need to worry about this if I'm going to Kilmat and insulate this?

So, while I was recovering my seat, in my standard Pickemup, I laid down sound insulation on the back and under the seats as shown, only. This slight change was dramatic in how it quieted the interior. Nothing in the doors, nothing on the ceiling (its a solid metal cab top), nothing under the rubber diamond plate floor ($38 from the homely depot). It drives like a new truck and amazingly quiet.

Helped a lot in my truck. The ceiling helps with rain noise. Do the doors too

WOW! I've never seen that inside a vehicle before! Even our junkers that sit out back that have nothing in them don't do that

Condensation comes from moisture in the air- humidity or fog. If you seal the insulated areas off from the air well, you won’t have any problems.

Mostly- but that humidity can come from a lot of places. Condensation mostly happens on surfaces that are colder than the moist air. Anyone who has spent the night in their rig with the windows up on cool/cold weather has seen the moisture from their breath condensed on the windows etc the next morning. If you can simply seal off the metal from moisture/air, you won’t have a problem. But if the insulation is loose over the sheet metal, and there’s gaps that air can get in and come in contact with the metal, you might have a problem. Trick is to either keep the steel exposed so it can dry quickly after condensing, or seal it off from the air so high levels of humidity can’t reach it.

Yeah I wouldn't do a single thing until you get the window in it. Once that's in, wipe everything down and put some of those moisture absorbing things in the truck for a week or so. Then reevaluate.

Ok…that would make a lot of sense then..if the headliner was on, then the inside part of the roof would be warmer than the outside…thus no condensation? Even if the ambient air temp/humidity was the same?

I put a piece of insulation in one of the roof bays and that completely stopped the condensation in that bay...I guess the concept of thermal bridging exists even in a squarebody
