Pics? Are you Grant wood grain grippin?
@Maxwellvis is out working on the truck now, so I snapped a pic that shows the steering wherl.
The boy looked up what Grant adapter he needed and I purchased it.
It went right in with no hassle.

Not too bad...

wow that's a hell of a deal
I was on a tear that day with steering wheels.
I picked up a red Grant GT for $5 earlier and was walking around with it in my hand.
Near the end of the day I found the one that we put into the truck.
I asked the guy how much and he said make an offer.
I held up the other one and said I got this one for $5 and showed him the tag on it with the price.
He thought on it for a second and accepted my way lowball offer.

He didn't want to take it home...

Here is a photo of the first one I picked up that day.
Works perfect in my red VW beetle...

So you are 6'-3"

6'-3-1/2" actually. I use that line with the boys, especially the younger ones, who learnt the metric system and not the old imperial. They ask me how tall l am, and when l tell them 5'-15", they sometimes respond " Oh , thought you would at least been 6 foot "

Now that's funny....When people ask me how tall I am...I tell them I'm 6'-5" but when I grow up I want to be 6'-6'. I always get the same look, like "what your not grown up?"

Take a pic of that wheel and post it up, with the measurement of it, please. If my daughter likes it and it is smaller we may have to work something out.

It's the same overall diameter...basically.

I'd hate to hear what you guys would say about having to steer a truck with a big wheel such as this one.

It's too skinny, it's too big around, it hits my gut, I can't get in or out of the truck...lol... I'll admit, it sucks on long trips because of it being skinny and no padding, but one just soldiers on. If the manual steering gear ever goes south and I have to install power steering, the Grant will go on in its place. That old Grant was in my '56, then in Mean Green, and has easily 200k of driving on its leather wrap.

Mine doesn’t have power steering yet,so I’m happy with the big original wheel.

Power steering is definitely a game changer. That would certainly make most of us forgo the small wheels.

Another thing your post reminds,... I like to know I'm driving a truck. Sure, it's not a semi, but if you're familiar with those, they tend to have a fairly large steering wheel.

More manlier, Arrgggh Arrrgggh Arrrgh.

*With apologies to Tim Allen

That's to keep the airbag from blowing your heart out through your spine.

Huh. Never thought about that.

But I still don't like it, lol. The GMT 800 trucks still had a good pedal/steering/seat ratio and I'm ok with the airbag being too close if I'm comfortable the rest of the time.
