SM465 shift boot

So, shift boot on my '85 K20 Suburban has seen better days. Will a 68-72 boot and retaining plate fit or is the mid 80's boot/retainer plate larger? As in are the earlier years smaller and not fit. I know my current OEM is squarish vs the 68-72 is more oval. Kinda like to spiff the old Burb up some more.

Go to LMC and look at both trucks and see if the part #s are the same.
