I'd approach this from another direction myself. I'd go to Autozone, borrow a fuel pressure test kit, tee it in at the fuel filter location, and check for pressure. It sounds like it's not priming correctly, and you may just have a low pressure condition from a dying pump. If you test it and see less than 12 psi, there's a problem. That'll give you the opportunity to check the filter also. The best way to test the pump electronically is to bypass the relay by applying 12V to Pin G (bottom left corner) on the ALDL. I've gotten the most out of my ALDL as of recently by cutting the two 'L' pieces off a clothespin spring, which just leaves the coil part, and sticking them in the pins I need. That way I can use test wires with gator clips instead of jamming probes in those pins. It's a lot easier for me, and now I can actually drive with my laptop hooked up to my truck's computer. Anyways, that'll send power directly to the pump. You can listen to the pump, perform your pressure test that way, etc. Do you have good oil pressure, and can you verify that your ECM is giving you the normal clues that it's operating correctly such as coming on when you turn the key on? I know later TBIs had a pump relay trouble code, but I'm thinking that may be only on PCMs, which is 1993-95. The pump is my big suspect, but I'd keep the relay and the ignition control module in the back of my mind.

That may work with a time im off. Everyone has load restrictions in place out here. Hopefully they lift them soon. Our first job of the year is local. Yay. Its a 60x90 steel building. All the options. Probally going to take us 3 to 4 weeks.

Also yesterday i sat on the phone for an hour woth Amazon. I bought my airtex pump from them. I wanted a warrenty replacement. I bought the pump in the begining of 2017. They tried telling me that they were not going to honor the lifetime warranty. So after a couple different reps and a lisp that almost sounded forced from one of the pansies they finally agreed to send me a replacement for free. It will be in next week. Im hoping i can find the problem elswhere but if need be ill habe a spare sitting in the truck already.

No. I just got a trolly for the overhead beam in my shop, so I'm going to pull the box off and get some better pics. I want to get it out of the way so I can start cleaning up the frame on the 80.

Any luck with your truck or you going to wait for the fuel pump to come in?

Im afraid Airtex is probably the pump brand you want to stay away from the most.

Thats probably true but unfortunately with my limited finances at the time that was the cheapest option. Ill replace it again this summer when i put 2 new tanks and sending units in. If it is the pump its probably my fault to begin with for letting moisture in the tank when i first bought the truck and pulled the pump. Ive had to do the filter 2 times this year. YES i learned my lesson haha

Sounds more like a ign switch or loose wire on solenoid. You
Don't seem to have a problem after its running, so I would think it's not fuel pump related. Also, after your snip job, a hot
Sitzbath for a few days is the best. Ask me how I know.
