Sea foam ... cleaner

Very weird this popped up
I was just thinking about doing this before I change my oil.
My fear is my truck needs valve seals
Will cause issues?

Nope- even if you have bad valve seals it will not matter since you will be changing your oil already.

I do know that you will need a new o2 sensor cause it will fill the slots up causing it to plug up and I cant remember there was something else it damaged valves I dont know may be good may be bad let us know what happens

I do know that you will need a new o2 sensor cause it will fill the slots up causing it to pug up and I cant remember there was something else it damaged valves I dont know may be good may be bad let us know what happens

I do not see why it would do any of that. The FAQ on their website says it is safe. I've used it on my '77 K20, a '93 Audi 90CS quattro sport, a '92 Audi 100 quattro, a '94 Audi 90CS quattro sport, and a 2003 Silverado 8.1L with 180,000 miles on it.

I've had no issues with any of those vehicles. It could have been a coincidence if that had happened to you.

I think it actually matters if you use it regularly or not. It's not rocket science to figure out what the product does. It's breaking the carbon loose in the combustion chamber and pushing it out the exhaust through the exhaust valves, right by the O2 sensor, through the Cat, into the muffler and out the tailpipe. If you keep your motor clean, and the carbon build up is never allowed to get to heavy, then I'd say the risk is much lower. Take a motor with 200,000 miles and start using it, I'd expect some problems. My 93 E350 had about 160,000 when I used it for the first time. The next trip, I didn't even make it to Abilene, TX from OKC. So figure out the mileage and the Cat was trashed. Of course I can't prove it's the Sea Foam that caused it.

Our fleet mechanic has been using it on our trucks for 8+ years. Never needed to replace o2 sensors. Don't think it will hurt anything IMHO

Ever time I use Sea foam I end up having to change my plugs cause it fouls at least 4.

No bud sorry its not if your motor is bad do it pull the cat and the o2 take a look
Pull your o2 and y pipe when doing and when I remember what else it did ill post in the mean time YouTube sea foam and tell me that doesn't clog your cat
Ah the one I couldn't remember the plugs

And ccc is cheaper

Nonetheless, I'm still a firm believer in using as a crankcase cleaner. 1/2 can in your crankcase about 500 miles before you change your oil and change your oil with the motor fairly warm to get all the melted down good out with the oil and your next oil will stay cleaner longer, and so forth until you eventually have a clean motor. I put the other 1/2 in the gas tank with about 1/4-1/3 of a tank and run it close to empty and of course as said, I have noway to know if it's doing any good since I don't have any fuel problems. Obviosly it doesn't hurt fuel pumps or accelerator pumps or mine would be trash by now.

I just have reservations on the sucking it into the combustion chamber. Granted it will clean the combustion chamber. I don't doubt that a bit, but it's the other **** the cut loose carbon tears up is my negative.
