I had to fix one before because the wire had melted on the exhaust and dude butt -connected the wires together but the CCC didn't like that connection.Had to fix dude's wire and sell him another O2 - because he had cut the plug off.
BUT! They will be in a pipe LONG PAST service interval being as lazy as the OP - that cant spend 5 seconds - :p - bein lazy and not setting a code for it is what I was gettin at. AND new ones make a TON of difference in my experience. Didn't all that ish start with complaints about throttle response or some ****? Don't ignore the O2 - they're cheap now.

That One Wire O2 reads and changes fuel mixture at the rate of five times per second - if i'm not mistaken.

Huge difference.

Given all this vast information, im getting mixed signals, DOES the o2 generate an engine code or not?

This morning at a cool 26 or so degrees , i fired the truck up, headed down the driveway to take the oldest to my parents, truck shut off......

Same thing crank crank crank crank, feather gas, crank crank crank, feather gas, FINALLY ran, giant, stinky cloud of gas.... jesus sumpin is flooding that bitch out badly.

I shalt look into my map first with a multimeter.

If nothing looks suspect, ill goto o2 fosho.

And even if anything IS suspect, ill still look into the o2

I was thinking of a temp reading, depending on what kind of scan tool you have available.
Checking voltage. With any DVOM unplug the sensor 1 lead on sensor 1 lead to ground. Watch for quick response up and down.Ill repeat my test 2 or 3 times I watch for it to stick in 1 spot if it rises and falls, without lag and doesn't hang I move on.

Alli of you sometime when your bored heat an old O2 sensor with a propane torch check voltage and movement, get familiar so when you have a problem you are already familiar and not just changing parts guessing and then waiting to see if it's fixed.

Ya know the CTS is an internal ground to signal reading, I bet that's your problem - that deal is grounded out - on the inside. :D
