New to the forum. i have had my 89 V2500 Suburban for a year now. My tires are getting to the point where they need replaced. I can get 37" mt military takeoffs for close to the same cost as the 285/75/16s I have currently. Does anyone have pics or links to another thread with a 4" lift and 37s? Im not opposed to trimming my fenders to fit. Anything is appreciated.

Sorry , have no pic's of that combo , I am down with bigger lifts than 4's , I guess you could do it but major cutting would be a factor. You could go a body lift for cheap and make it happen.

What gear ratio are you running? And what transmission?

It has 4.10s right now. I planned on swapping to 4.56 or 4.88. The trans is a t400 that has 2000 miles on a rebuild

So with swapped gears a 4" lift with trimming would work? I dont really want to do a body lift to fit them however

Oh as far as the 37s go you will need to do some major trimming to stuff 37s under a 4" lift. You would need an 8" lift to properly clear 37s with out bent fenders.

Thanks for the help. Im going to continue reading around. I really do want to run 37s since they are cheaper than 33s and i love the look of suburbans sitting on big tires

There is a lot of smart guys around here and when those smart guys talk its usually good to listen. You simply will not get 37s under a truck with 4" of lift without some SERIOUS body work.

If you want to run that size of tire then you need a MUCH MUCH larger lift and when you start getting into that you will start having drive train issues elsewhere that will need to be addressed as well.

I have a 6 inch lift kit and a skinny 37 would be very close. I am thinking a slight fender mod will be needed to make it fit. I don't see how a 37 fits on a 4 inch lift unless you do some major trimming.

Im going to continue running 285/75s for right now. I have no lift on it right now. Brand new 285/75s just barely clear in the front fender. I do most street driving and some offroad on mostly flat ground. With trimming and small body lift could I fit 35s?

I'm in the exact same boat as you bud, bought my 87 k20 advertised as a 4" lift but not 100% sure, it's also has been Dana swapped front and rear and I have 16.5" wheels. Bought 37's for it and they will clear the rear ended fine but the front end is kind of tight. I just ordered 2.5" blocks with longer U-Bolts for the Dana 45 up front and I will let you know if it clears the tires after. The truck sits a little lower in the front now so this should level it out as well.

pic shows you how big those 37's really are
