Rims

I have a 1977 k30, used to be a dump truck. I’m wondering if I need special rims to fit my hub or if anything 8x6.5 would work as long as I check my lugs. It is a dually and I was wondering if I could put newer style 8x6.5 dually rims would work

You want a dually rim all around more than likely to not limit your rotation/spare options. otherwise a 8 lug on the front being like a truck wouldnt be able to go on rear

It’s not a must though, your able to remove fibreglass fenders, offset is a choice not a must…can always switch out the hubs for a k20 on the front… it’s dependant on what look a person is going for versus usability… Just MO

well its not really an opinion if its a fact that is true

in terms of what CAN be done vs What maybe is the best choice. he asked if any would work, and what I said would be the consideration for the stock truck as it be, but your words more or less mean that if he wants to go to standard truck setup then he has that ability

I'll assume he has a dually as well, since I don't think a K30 was offered as a SRW that year, only C30s could be srw.
But I'll just leave this here for those that think it "has" to be traditional dually wheels, even in an OE looking configuration.
OR, maybe the OP could be more specific in what truck he has and what he is looking for, for wheels.
No dually hub up front.....

Huh I dont think ive seen a hub cap like that unless its just looking different in an ad pic. Still neat tho. Catboxes mirrors are there too
also those sexy new Bias ply all tall and tough. Bet they, if existed, leave black on your hand if you touch them. Mmm old times. (that comment is because thats what my antiquated bias plys do)

You missed the point.
Those are not traditional dually rims...yet they are on a 1977 dually, from the factory.

Oh. How did it fit? Was there a spacer.. or .. maybe the wheel when.. no that would t work. Is the inner wheel the only one needing to be offset different maybe

it was in 78 at least, i was having fun looking at a 1980 GMC brochure when i googled a statement in it and it brought me to a 78 GMC brochure which SRW and DRW were options. K30 wise. Crew Cab, bonus cab, etc. Fiberglass add on fenders, the tire size/ply depending on weight ratings etc

Yeah, I'm wrong here. What they don't show in the brochure is shown as available according to the spec sheets.
