The 3.5"s fit in the factory brackets and holes with minimal tweaking. .

4"ers would be a struggle on the driver's side. The instrument cluster would be in the way and you'd have to come up with a new bracket. Potentially have to cut the hole in the dash as well.

I've read about guys fitting them in but it seems like too much hacking and tweaking for my taste.
Don't think it would be worth it for a 1/2", lol, I would think good 3 1/2's would work just as good...

I was going to tell you that lmc sells a speaker for the center of the dash that has the hookup for two speaker inputs for your radio. Basically a double speaker setup that would fit without mods, but I see that you’ve already cut that hole out so I’m a little late. I’m planning to go with one of those along with two more speakers behind the seat in my truck.
