Bumping this up so that it's easy for me to find. I'm hoping to do this on Friday or Saturday to my '98 passenger side.

Does this increase the speed of the windows as well or do we need to also install relays in the system?

Based on the diagram he provided. This will not help it roll up or down any faster. Reason being is you’re still using the 12v from the original wiring.
With the relay method you use the original switch as a “Signal” for the relay to provide power from the battery or wherever you’re getting your power from ( could also be the fuse box)

So I guess we’d have to do one or the other since the relays are for up and down and this operates both? Or could we still splice in the relays in the system before it hits this mod?

Bumped to find it later. The windows on my Burb are in need of refurbishment. I’ll add auto down while I’m in there. Auto up would be good too. Anyone done both?

Stupid question: How does the module know the window is all the way down?

Here ya go.

The circuit senses the short-circuit current when the window reaches the bottom/top and shuts off.

Not sure. Someone did it with Ford modules.
You want the furd circuit? It's quite different from the GM. IIRC the furd is based on a hot full time and switched ground.

Does anyone know if the wiring is the same if you're doing the window relay mod? Where do the auto down modules tie into the relay wiring to allow the module to sense the load when the window is down and shut off?

Is this schematic for both auto up AND auto down, or just auto down?

i believe dakotadigital has a pretty solid modular lineup of functions with modules that can integrate onto their databus if you are using a **** load like EFI, Their guagees, etc. But they also do standalone. I THINK i saw this featured there

however, in my experience a strong window motor on a good clean and lubed track/thing while running vehicle usually move quick enough that i dont find express down all that big in my life. Also just to note 97 + park avenue is not going to have the thing you seek

The models mentioned all run to 99 unchanged from 98 s except for park avenue. I think.

Riviera is a weird one, wouldnt advise trying that, nor Aurora, but there is a chance 95-97s on them may
older cadillacs than mid 90s so like 92 93 nay have similar types things.

also if saturns came with express window switches, id try them. same as cavaliers. im just thinking of any vehicle that had very un-integrated wiring like cavaliers had those center ones i recall between seats, saturn to me i feel may be option if it does, and maybe even try GMT 400s.
You can google those and any cars for express down modules or driver express module or similar words
