Some years ago I ran across a source of reproduction emissions labels - the ones usually stuck to the core support that lists engine model/displacement, spark gap, ignition timing, etc., as well as the ability to have it modified to show current engine specs after an engine swap, specifically for the guys that swapped in something that was never available from the factory....such as the 489ci BBC that's now in my K5.
I recently went looking for it again, and couldn't find squat. My suspicion is that it's a business that got shut down, maybe due to those labels being a federally mandated emissions related part, and the government taking a dim view of modifying such things? I didn't even think about it when I sandblasted mine off when I was stripping the core support for paint, and was thinking it would be nifty to have the specs on the current motor as well. I'm not subject to emissions inspections, so there's no concern there. Though I'm thinking that if I really want this, I'll probably have to learn Photoshop to get it, lol.
