Replacement doors?

I'm almost ready to start on the interior of my 77 K10. Last thing I need to do before that is to get both of the doors rehabbed, as the passenger side window is broken and the drivers side glass doesn't stay up unless I shim it into place. I don't want to have the interior rebuilt and nice looking just for a ton of rain and dust from our Arizona monsoons to gunk it all up.

I'm planning on replacing both doors. The doors I have are in OK condition, but have some rust towards the bottoms, plus lots of little dings and dents everywhere. Does anyone have recommendations on where to buy some new door shells? I'm currently eyeing these:

I just picked up a couple of donor doors. Each door has a few dings but metal is in great shape. Given your location, I'll bet you can find some good donor doors locally.

AMD is likely your best bet for aftermarket. Forum member @TotalyHucked works there. He can advise.
Personally I’d look for takeoff doors. Dime a dozen in the desert. Repop panels are for people who aren’t lucky enough to live where good OE sheetmetal still exists IMO.

Not sure your concern about old doors and dust getting in. That’s the job of the seals and gaskets and door panels etc. New doors aren’t “more airtight.”

As far as the dust getting in, i meant that as in the cab is open to the elements because one window is broken and the other is stuck in the down position

In addition to AMD stuff, a local shop recommended Goodmark body panels, but I can’t speak from personal experience.

Are you sure you wanna redo the interior before paint?
Seems backwards sine you have to remove what you install on the doors again.
Or maybe not planning to paint. Just thinking about eliminating double work.

Not planning on paint. This is more meant to be an offloading/camping truck, so not planning on paint anytime soon

If you are going with aftermarket doors,instead of used doors you will have to paint. They are coated enough to protect them in a warehouse,not in an outdoor environment. Maybe some are better than others but I've seen plenty of aftermarket panels ruined by putting them on but not painting.

The worst part is you need to strip the existing stuff off first b-4 painting. Soooo paint remover, clean, dewax, epoxy primer, color, and clear. It will make everything else look like poop. HOWEVER the door will look awesome. BTW take your bog boy wallet to the paint store.

Many primers are porus,the metal will rust under the primer.

Good point but he’s in Phx, so take about another 50 years to rust thru.
I’d still look for OE takeoff doors though. Regardless of color.
