redoing stock steel wheels

I've run 275-60s on 8" Rally Wheels for over 30 years on my 78 SW. No problems and the speedometer still thinks they are 235-75s.

I ran 255/70 on mine for years. When I got new tires, I went with 255/60 for the front and 275/60 for the rear.

Ok, I went 235/75r15 because Im being a cheap ass. 255/70r15 were like $50 more a tire. I was told one wheel "has a wobble", not sure what that means besides bent. I think I can feel it driving at 65+. Doesnt happen lower, might be something else like transmission or transmission mount. I say this as that my RPM's are higher now with smaller wheels. The more and more I think about it, the more and more its transmission or trans mount. Long story tried to make short, red rim guy seemed iffy to trade. I got home, he wanted to trade back. Found out the 22s are a 5x4.52 with adapters. Fine, Ill be nice since thats my bad for assuming. Well, I gave him the lug nuts thinking they could be special for the 22's and he forgot to give them back, I still dont have them a week and half later. Found someone that sold me 4 15x8, 4 center caps, 3 3" rings for $150. Score! I had to sand them, primer, and paint them. Just needing to get the screws for the centers and one more 3 inch ring and then new avatar.

Last question though. Im trying to find a good high quality pic, but cant find one. The stock lug nuts, they are 1/2 x 20. But I take it they are full capped lug acorn lug nuts... correct?
I was aiming for stainless but on Amazon, chrome is cheaper.

I'll tell ya what. No REAL tech inspector that likes his job, will let you run down his track UNLESS you have open-ended lug nuts.

Protip: your lug stud MUST be halfway into (or is it half an inch?) the lug nut or you nogo. :nono:

I'll tell ya what. No REAL tech inspector that likes his job, will let you run down his track UNLESS you have open-ended lug nuts.

I think for racing, the stud must extend through the nut by the a certain amount. that way they can visually see that all the threads are engaged.

Well glad this thing isn't built for racing. And why, meh, to Amazon. I'm just trying to buy a set of lug nuts withojt spending $40 and out it back to stock looking.

Aren't the 60° conical ones for alloy wheels? I thought the rounded seat was correct for the steel wheels.

Lol I dunno. Those are cheaper from eBay than what he got from Amazon... they are right dor my wheels..that was the result of my search query..Axe the Lugnut guys!
I am run only Progressive wheels..
