Rear sway bar

I looked on CPP's site and they don't have any rear sway bars for anything older than '72 C10.
Let's see... I went to UMI Performance Parts. They only carry parts for Camero's and Firebirds. Yeah, I should know that because I must have went through a couple dozen parts places looking for rear sway bars for my truck and came across a bunch that only had stuff for cars. or worse LS engined cars, or cars with Mustang II front ends, coil over front ends, etc., etc.

UMI rear swaybar part# 6443. It's a bit pricey at $400+ but it's adjustable and I believe heim joint ends. UMI offers a complete suspension system now.

The Camper Special Package only had a front sway bar, and if you chose the Deluxe Camper Special Package you got the rear sway bar and several other camper stabilization add-ons. GM called it the Elimi-pitch package in ‘75.

My truck has the base camper special package, but apparently the dealer added the front fender and box stabilizer brackets (they look like mounts for extra shocks that connect to the camper). I don’t have a rear sway bar on the axle.

But like my truck, does your front lower A arms have the bolt holes for the sway bar, and rear from holes for the rear sway?

@Bennyt, When I saw the "Camero & Firebird" on the front page I just kept on keepin' on. I don't know how many sites like that I've explored that didn't have anything for trucks and I thought it was another one of them. After you've spent a whole month day and night, not solid of course but mostly day and night looking for a radiator for my truck it was very frustrating. I going back to it right now and see.

Boy, that sure looks good! But, yeah, $429.99 is a bit high for just the rear bar. Hey, I'll stick with the Hellwig. It's in yellow like all my other suspension stuff. I like yellow or red for suspension stuff. It stands out good and you can see it from a distance. But the UMI site didn't say how thick it was. I guess there was some other place to see that info. Maybe if I clicked "buy" it would show more info. Some do that.

You'll need to go to POL, QA1, CPP and those kinds of places for coil overs, they've all got them for both front and rear. What I've seen on those sites is with a coil over setup the sway bars all have end links to connect the end of the sway bars, front and back. Not like my truck where the end of the sway bar is in another bar bushing like in the middle, and the end bushing goes on the edge of the lower A arm. There are two bolt holes in the arm for the bushing bracket. And boy, are they high! If you wanted to convert to coil overs for your truck be prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars! It's because you'll have to change out your lower A arm to accept the coil over shock In the back what you'll be doing is removing your leaf springs and replace them with the coil overs for the rear. Big changes.

Where did, or rather, what did that bar come off of? It's to big to come off a Surburban, theirs is a 3/4", crappy bar it wouldn't hold down a chicken coup. That looks like at least a 1"

Call one of these places unless you know something here will fit a Blazer. Here's where you want to go. "Hellwig" has just about everything for most years pickups, etc.. I'm getting one for my truck. The only reason why I had this handy is because I built a folder of this kind of stuff for my truck and I reached right down to it. Otherwise I'd have to be looking this stuff up one thing at a time. I've done all the work already. Enjoy! And there are more places.

The half-ton 2wd Suburbans had a rear sway bar offered from factory and it was listed in the original parts books. Mind you, in all the time I was at the dealer, I never heard of anyone asking for one and never seen one on anything that came through.
There might be one out there....... somewhere.
