I currently have a bone stock 1987 R10 and will be having an L76 6.0L with a 6 speed automatic transmission swapped into later this year. I want a Posi with new gears but looking for a turn key recomendation to swap under the truck. The back has drums if that matters and i want to keep the original bolt pattern. Thanks!

Quick Performance should be your first call. Great guys over there that can set you up with what you need. I bought everything to upgrade and rebuild my stock 10-bolt from them if you want to go that route. Or they offer 9" assemblies for these trucks as well. With the super deep 1st gear in that 6L (I assume this is a 6L80 or 6L90), I'd probably recommend somewhere in the 3.42-3.55 range. I went 3.90 and it was great for a 4L65, but first gear would be super short with a 6L80/90.

Are you looking for a new ready to purchase rearend? Or are you asking us if there's a junkyard pick that has better gears,a posi and is bolt in?
