So after reading all of this thread, I went browsing JEGS to price the brackets and some complete kits. I see a lot of people looking for answers to the issue of a parking brake. Well one of the kits says that the calipers it uses are rear units from a 1980-1985 Cadillac Seville with emergency brakes. I hope this helps out with someone's build.

The parking brakes are dragging on my truck, it set for a while before I purchased it. So I think once I tear it all apart I am going to just upgrade to rear discs. I will take plenty of photos, along with the best step by step I can give. I also, will hopefully be able to locate the bolt on brackets. Even though I have access to a welder and could weld them on, most don't have a welder or could be hesitant to weld to their axle tube.

I know this is an old thread, but looking to do this on my 76 c10 12 bolt. Anybody have an exact parts list? Or at least the the caliper brackets that will bolt/ weld up? Thanks

If you want there is a kit from Right Stuff. One kit is for 5 lug, the other for 6 lug (ignore the photo)

I had a 1979 cadi with rear dics. Some of these parts may work too. Calipers have e braking. I'm going to check. Will post if its a go! 79 Fleetwood

I'm new to the site...hello everyone!! I own an 82 C10 and I definitely want to do this conversion. So do this I would need the Astro rotors, Astro calipers, and Astro caliper brackets correct? Has anyone done this yet?? Pics and step by step instructions please!!!

Technically I think you can use the oem master cylinder. I've heard of other people doing it. I wanted to have both reservoirs the same size as oem master cylinders are from the factory with front/rear disc brakes. I swapped out mine to this:

I used the stock hard brake lines. But since I was re-doing everything I replaced the old oem rubber lines to both front wheels and the 1 oem rubber line to the rear axle. After 38 years or so they needed it.

For those that need a parking brake couldnt you use the rear disc brakes backing plate and all from a 94-96 Impala SS? They are the 8.5 10 bolt and have 5x5 lug pattern.
