The other week while cutting firewood i pulled the mr bumper bumper i had off. Sheared the bolts nice and clean lol. Threw some new bolts in it and its back on. However i think its time to build one. Recently ive been building some calf shelters and the base was made from 3in drill pipe. Heavy stout and most importantly very cheap. Im also going to build a reciever into it. Id like to see some pics of your home made rear bumper.

I'd like to have a bumper that doubled as an air tank.

Seems like it could be potentially dangerous in a collision

could but if you had a compressor that you could turn on when you needed air for working on something it could act as the tank. Just need to let the air out after finished. Also could cause bumper to rust from inside out like compressor tanks.

Im thinking it will eventually be a hydraulic res. Still toying with the pto for a splitter and what not. Needs to be nice amd stout so next time i pull a log the log breaks and not the bumper haha

6x6x3/8” square tube with the ends capped with quick disconnects on the back side and a drain in the bottom. It should be stout enough to mount your hitch and be a reservoir.

X2. And seriously, what's the danger of having another tube, filled with compressed air??? Your tires have it in them.....

Not a bad idea with the 6x6. That will definitely go on my idea board.

With its girth you could accually cut slots on both sides and baffle it for additional strength. Then weld it up, pressurize it and drop it in a body of water and check for leaks
