quick ratio steering box

Has anyone here used or tried the Borgeson quick ratio steering box?? good ,bad ugly, thoughts??

I've used them in cars and like them. My fear in a truck the quicker ratio delivers less steering torque so it depends on what you intend to use truck for mostly

It’s kind of like no power steering if you are used to the factory. Less turns lock to lock, I prefer the two finger old style. Not inexpensive either way, my frame was cracked near the pump, look close BTW

I have one for my c20 project but it's not on the truck yet. My wife has one in the Mustang and it's nice, feels more responsive but needs a bit more effort like 3 fingers instead of 2.

I put one in my 2wd Suburban. I replaced a leaking/loose rebuilt one with about 20k on it. It is definitely tighter than the box
I replaced. Steering response is better also.

One of the few things I wouldn’t want to change for the better is how well 70s/80s power steering works. Speaking for trucks primarily.
Simple, super effective and frankly better than some PS systems I’ve dealt with on newer trucks.
Hard to turn down 1 finger steering, not moving in a big block 4x4 with big mudders.

I purchased a Borgeson myself but haven't installed it yet, I like the feel of stiff power steering so hope I like it... I also bought an Autofab steering box slash frame reinforcement, kind of a little know secret out there unless you really reasearch.... Nutshell its a BOLT ON frame/steering box bracket/stiffener for frames that ARE NOT already cracked its a work of art IMHO.... It allegedly prevents the frame from getting the death cracks around the box from oversize tires/wheel combinations then needing the "weld in" frame repair kit...

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I would add to this one.
I just did a Borgeson QR steering box install along with the Borgeson u-joint lower shaft.
So far, I love it. It feels great. It is noticeably quicker and more responsive. It doesn't really feel stiffer, just tighter.
I'm digging the heck out of it.

I regret not doing that. I sent my stock box off to AGR in Texas to be rebuilt. Just a stock rebuild was half the cost of that Borgeson. Once they evaluated the box, they asked if I wanted the flow valve changed so it would be less 1-fingery and feel more like a modern truck. That was more $ and they could have made it quick ratio but that would've made it more expensive than the Borgeson, so I passed. In the end, I ended up within ~$75 of the Borgeson, should've just done that.

I put the Borgeson box on my build, the stock box was trash.
