Bump this thread. what are the differences in the kits from Ac and non ac.
I have been scrounging parts for the ac vents and the cross tube that goes under the dash. But does VA replace that with their own tube? what about the vent above the HVAC controls?
just wanna know what I should grab and what should ignorebb

I would assume mounting hardware on the firewall by the engine. Because they would have to give you a cutout and some special stuff to fit the box there, my guess.Under the dash I would assume is fully replaced

Look through the instructions for the surefit series for a C10.
https://www.vintageair.com/surefit-series-installation-instructions/?type=GM Vehicles

the instructions are fairly thorough and include diagrams.
Or email their tech dept and ask [email protected]

edit: appears to come with the dash trim and all louvers.

The non a/c truck kit comes with vents an dash trim for the pass side. Going with factory a/c kit you only get duct tubing an defrost vents.

The firewall plate is the same for both kits. You will need to follow the plate mounting instructions for the kit for your truck though as that's the part that varies. The plate is actually easier to install on a non a/c truck.

I recommend the kit for a factory a/c truck. If you have a non a/c truck get reproduction (or factory if you can find it) trim an vents. The final product is much better that way. The VA trim an vents look like an aftermarket add on not a factory option.
