Popping forces me to question the GROUNDS. They look good to me??
The plugs/wires/connections AT the distributor are good? Complete and clean? New cap, new plug wires, new coil in distributor, new spark plugs
-IF! you screwed around and DID NOT replace the in-tank ground wire with the pump, that's a headache waiting to happen and you'll get to go back and do it again. That wiring is hacked up
-The ground wire to the framerail next to the #2 cylinder. New
-The ground wire from the battery to the fender. New
-The ground wire from the driver side cylinder head to the firewall. hooked up, not new
-The ground wire from the fuel filler next to the frame. Not hooked up, i'm running out of a gas can!
What is the condition of the gasoline? Is it ancient ethanol or? Fresh and no ethanol 100% gas
How about a vid? I'm to the point where i'm not asking for help diagnosing this but if anyone has an idea about the popping noise i'm all ears. To me, it sounds like a bad valve, possibly an exhaust valve. Stethoscope didn't narrow it down to a certain spot.PLUS there aren't any pix.
Maybe @SirRobyn0 will listen to it.

You can rattle off more thoughts, I appreciate it. I could always write my issues on paper but posting them here might help others.I'll try to rattle off more thoughts if you want me to but you said you don't want help with diagnosing it and I don't want to over step. Just let me know and I'll keep going with thoughts on timing.
