Im looking to upgrade from my manual brake cylinder to a power booster set up. Currently have a dual manual brake cylinder with disc in front and drums in the rear. Any recommendations for a legit power brake booster cylinder set up? Thank you in advance... 1976 Chevy C10

For your info, if you switch to power brakes you will need to relocate the position of the brake pushrod. If your pedal does not have provisions you will need to modify or change the pedal. The geometry is wrong and even though you think it looks like it will work,it won't. There will not be enough travel on the pushrod,by moving the pushrod pivot down it increases the amount the pushrod travels for the same pedal movement. The farther from the pedal pivot point the greater the change. Your best bet would be find your brake option code, buy a new power btake master cylinder for your brake option code truck,go to the bone yard and get the booster, hardware, pedal and little tid bits(brackets, clips, etc ) from a junk truck. This way you have everything, and know how it all goes together. Use the search engine find project stalled brake problem started by Peter coppola, read through it.

I can’t tell from the pic, but tall valve covers might have an problem fitting with a stock size booster, might have to go with a slightly smaller diameter booster.

If you want real brakes, go with Hydro-boost, you can get everything you need from a donor truck/Suburban.
you can use your master cylinder with it. I would never go back to a Vacuum booster system.
It wont interfere with What ever motor ya stuff in it...

a good vacuum booster is just fine, but I must say I do like the pedal and feel and power of my 2005 silverados brakes with hydroboost. I also like that quickly using the brake doesnt bog the engine the same amount (loading the ps pump vs depleting the intake vacuum massively) but i dont need to pump brakes with the ABS so not an often issue

But using the brake while steering is sometimes annoying

tandem diaphram (dual diaphram) boosters are also stronger, but i think they have a different mounting setup than single, not so certain from what ive read
