Replacement mirror heads and elbows?

Been trying to remove these and clean and paint, but not having any luck. Can't budge that bolt. Afraid of using heat and setting fire to the nylon and rubber washers. I guess there's a threaded bung in the bottom of the elbow?

That mirror "elbow" might be an aftermarket or from a painted mirror. The GM ones were stainless. Just twist that bolt head off and replace the mirror head.

You can find those heads used or aftermarket. Just search GM Camper style mirror head. Many choices pop up.
