My other toy, 1985 Monte Carlo SS. Have not posted pictures until now.

First car, second owner, everything is stock except for the exhaust, CD player, and steering wheel. She's been in this state for over a year, as more important things seem to demand my time and money. Tentative plan is to have it back on the road by our shop car show in June. Keeping it stock for the most part, maybe drop it a couple of inches. Pulling the motor and trans to clean them up and get the 200-4R rebuilt. To bad your not closer HR, I would have you do the trans.

As it sits on the roller skates...

Engine bay. Couple steps away from being pulled. Needs a good cleaning and some paint...

Interior. Clean for 150k + miles. Gray is the only color that looks good to me in these cars.

I have an 84 non SS that was my first car(given to me).
The 305 isnt the originial so its getting a peppy 350/th350 and 3.42's. The 305 lasted me about a week befor it developed a rod-knock. :D darn teen drivers LOL.

My dads 86 SS is all original with 42k on the clock.

And my grandmas 88 LS has a roller 350 in it.

Nice!!! I'd lower it just a tad, tint the windows (not too dark), put original stripes on it and then rock it!

Been following your Monte thread. Mine was given to me also. Speaking of teen drivers, for as many times as this 305 has seen the redline while racing my buddy when he had his 84 T/A, I am surprised it still runs sweet. I can't bring myself to replace a perfectly good running motor. When it does puke, most likely an LS motor will be going in. Are you guys on montecarloss.com? I am kwkenuf85 over there.

Thanks! That's my general plan, but I am gonna leave the stripes off for now. I have 2" rear lowering springs, just need some fronts. Thinking the windows are gonna get 35% tint. Back when I was driving this thing a lot I was knocking down 20 mpg pretty routinely. Would love to make this my summer DD again. It also needs... everything. Pretty much every bushing on it needs to be replaced and the rear rails of the frame are almost gone too. You can't tell from the body as that has been recently worked on, but this is going to be an on going driving project for several years to come.

I think the 2.30's is a reason mine is knocking.Since then i have put 3.42's in the rear. You should have 3.73's. And if its originial, why change it. And i agree on the frame rails, mines the same way, im thinking of making a backhalf for my car.

Lol, a front wheel drive v6 is not an SS :bleh::bleh::rice::happy175:
