please recommend a transmission dipstick that isn’t junk.

Th350.

The dipstick that came with my truck when I got it was most likely a Mr. gasket

i’ve tried several different size O-rings. I’ve tried buying two different top hat seals. Nothing fits, or nothing works.

I put the calipers on the dipstick tube opening on the transmission and it’s roughly 3/4 of an inch. If anybody could recommend a forever dipstick tube and/or the seals that go with it, it would be much appreciated. I’m tired of messing around with it.

I just ordered a Pioneer brand dipstick tube for my V3500. I get it Monday. I am hoping it fits well. My original one the bracket is missing. If it does not fit right I will try and make a bracket and weld it on.

I will let you know how it fits.

Around here Junk Yards are a thing of the past. They are all used parts yards and they dismantle vehicles and put parts on a shelf. Good luck finding stuff like dipstick tubes and small items. Most of their vehicles are new to maybe 15 years old. The older stuff the just crush and scrap.

I wish some of your local junk yards were present here in Vegas...All of our pick-a-parts have old stuff from the 70s, 80s and 90s plus early 00's...Anything after 2010 is largely non-existent in local pick yards...Would love to have access to later model vehicles for the transmissions...

Go to the junkard and buy a good used OEM one out of a TH350 for $5-$10.
Great idea. But I just don’t have time. On the road six days a week right now. Every now and then I stop when I see a truck in a field, but that’s about it. I’ll try looking at some online salvage.

Last time I needed a dipstick I ordered one from summit. It was around 45 bucks, and didn’t use those junk orings. The boot type seals are MUCH more forgiving.

Lokar is some of the best stuff I’ve used, using both oil and trannny sticks on my 572

I like the ones that break in half and get stuck in the tube
That happened on my 4RUNNER. Right before a road trip...

Fortunately it was easy to get out, and the top half latches down so it stayed sealed.
