Plastic Vacuum lines

This issue has probably been addressed before, but a GMSB search was unsuccessful.
Is there a source for the small (1/8") plastic vacuum line on the firewall? It runs from
a rubber hose connector to the passenger side firewall grommet into the cab and supplies
vacuum for the vent actuators.

All the parts stores used to stock GM hard vacuum line, usually in the Help! section with the other small parts.

Dorman 47419 is the 3/16” line and 47417 is the 1/8” line. You can use short sections of rubber vacuum line to splice two hard lines together.

always hated the small plastic lines. Seems like a great source for a vacuum leak. Have often thought of putting some larger OD tubing on mine with a little more bendability but one with good compliance.

That small of a hose going to a larger hose leaves too much room for leaks IMO.

I think they used the hard line because it’s easier to slip in behind the dash . Rubber vacuum lines would be larger diameter and would catch on things more easily. When you take apart the HVAC I think there are at least 7 of those lines running across to the controls, so it’s a good sized bundle.

when we did ours to get the actuators working again I bought an electric vac pump with pigtail and vacuum ball all together from amazon ( dorman 904-214) and silicone hosing. had to get a new control box from oldairproducts because i went to open my 9 port and the plastic disagreed with my choices.

Yeah, you know I've seen those little plastic lines, they're like real hard. My wife's Toyota used to have them. I noticed that they get brittle and crack. And also, they will bend to a small degree but then they break suddenly. They have a tiny little hole in them and the whole line is like an 1/8". I wondered how could vacuum get through there.

I replaced my vhard lines with silicone vacuum hoses. Heat resistant and they don't age.

Another reason to install a Vintage Air system. After I did mine, I swapped to a hydroboost, EFI and Dakota Digital dash. I now have exactly ZERO vacuum lines on my truck! It was like God himself came down and fixed the mess all in one fatal swoop.

I replaced mine with rubber vacuum tubing and always had success with it.

I had to splice on of mine. Went to do the valve covers and in moving a line out of the way it snapped so I got a piece to splice and called it a day. I looked around for new hard lines myself, but the only ones would take a few weeks to get here
