Welcome, I agree with the frame off choice. If it already has no engine,
why not go all the way and do it right. Please post pics of your progress, and don’t hesitate to ask these fine gentleman for advice. Good luck with your project!

First picture. Got a good look underneath and I think I did great for $650. Frame is is great shape, 10 bolt limited slip rear, no rust on cab corner on DR very little on passenger. 59K miles.

I happy with a nice frame and cab for the price.

I think you did good. Sure the odometer says 59,000 only because it's a 5 digit odometer!:happy175:haha. Mine only has 34,000 on it if that one has 59,000!!

59,000 miles ? Sounds about right... and my wife Scarlett Johansson also believes that’s accurate

You did good for IL at the price for a very little rust truck. My buddy would love to have that shell for his 84. He's in a wheel chair and prolly not got to many years left but he's been bitching at me to find him a shell he's ready to load up the dogs and go do some traveling. If I knew he'd actually do it, I'd be a bit more aggressive at finding him one, but what he's described you got the exact one he wants. He wants it raised in the back so his wheel chair will fit without being tore down.

Thanks for joining.
So, what do you really want with this truck? How will be using it? This info can help us help you choose the best plan.
Of course I will recommend a big block... no matter what haha.
No not really, but a stroked (383) 350 I might agree with..
