Does it say on the sticker on the case, when Hughes built that thing? Sticker is faded away
Using a round hole rev input drum when the third design square hole was available would have been odd. Cost saving, maybe?
I'm curious as to what valve body, accumulator mods were performed. Will be posting details soon
Is this an aux valve body trans (87-93)? Yes
Were there two valve body check balls or just one? One
How many .25" case check balls were installed? 3, and the captured check ball is removed
Did the forward drum pass a pressure test? Haven't tested yet
@Wumbo - For some reason this website isn't letting me quote but the round hole rev input drums are obsolete so yea, was def a cost cutting measure...Not the end of the world, just odd to see in one of their transmissions...Also odd to see Z-pack as it's the one Raybestos product that is complete garbage.
So far, from what I can make out on your parts table, your build is shaping up to be much more of a high performance build than what that unit received from Hughes...
Looking forward to more pics as you progress...let me know if you run into any issues along the way.
Those rarely leak...try tapping it with a drift to reseat the check ball to see if it stops leaking...If not, replacement is easy as I'm sure you know.Third accumulator check ball capsule leaks like it isnt even there.
Shot some brake fluid through it and that helped, but it's getting replaced.
