Im doing it in stages, im on a budget so trying to save as much as i can then go to better stuff.
There is no way this will be cheaper unless you already have all the parts. You can get full motors for ~$500 around here.. throttle body to flex plate. You can get an entire engine/trans/wiring harness/ecm for $1000-2500 depending on miles and condition. Standalone harness for an LS and 4l60/4l80 is gonna be ~$500 for a really good quality one. You only need to connect 4 wires from the standalone harness to the truck and you are done. Good luck getting some mix and match carb setup and trans controller to work worth a damn after piece meal changing everything around over the course of several years. Unless someone gave you that short block for free, I can't imagine it makes any sense to use it. Just go get a complete engine/trans/wiring/PCM for $1500 and then you don't need to mess with anything. Or engine/trans for less. Or 5.3/6.0 engine only with no harness for even less, then go get a junkyard 4l80 that has decent looking fluid for $200-400, buy a standalone harness for a couple hundred bucks and send it.

yeah i unfortunately live in the great state of new mexico where income is lower and people overvalue the price of everything so that aint as realistic as you make it seem. Ive looked at the surrounding states and it is 100 percent like that but where i am its almost unheard of.
