So I wanted to possibly restore my dashpad but I don't even know what color it was supposed to be originally. I have the yellow buckskin and white exterior color and same on inside with the cloth tan seat and door panels. Was the dash originally a darker brown? It almost looks like a redish color now. Anyone maybe have access to the original interior options for the silverado? Or pictures of an interior in better condition than mine? Thanks.

The dash pad would have been roughly the same color as the door panels, maybe a little darker.

After looking around online at 77's and 78's, the dash pads tend to be darker than I remembered. I was thinking they were lighter like in the brochure picture. There probably is no "right" shade of tan or brown as there were likely a lot of variances even when new. Add in the age and exposure to the sun and it makes it even harder to tell what is right.

Here is a pic of my 78 silverado trim. My doors are pretty faded, and the ick panels for some reason look almost a pink...
My truck is cordova brown and buckskin

Your truck has the same seat as mine (and the same sun damage issue except mines worse) The doors look the same but my dash looks less orangey. Btw do you know if its possible to sew those little things back together on the seat and reseal them?

My 87 is the same(ish) colors. The door panels and trim are a much lighter tan than the dash pad. The pad is more of a brown.
I'm deciding what colors to go with now, and I'm thinking darker all over with the stock woodland green exterior.
I'm finding that it's really hard to get a good idea on colors from pics online.

Well I went to go spray paint and noticed my door pockets are a different color than the arm rests. The inside trim is a darker tan. The door pockets are called bucksin so I painted the door panel buckskin but It doesn't match the armrests or the trim on the inside. Maybe they arent original. What would the darker tan have been called?

Love the bottom pic with the woody dash - shades of my 77 Suburban!

I would assume the dash was the same color as the door panels, but since the door panels are faded now and the dash pad has a cover - who knows ..

I wish there was some way to tell haha. I was looking for a color pallette of some sort for interior colors like in a brochure but couldn't find anything. I mostly want to know what the darker tan is so I can maybe repaint the door panels to match that better. My interior was used for parts so the interior is mixed between that bucksin and a darker tan. I painted one door panel buckskin and it looks nice but doesn't match perfectly with the other darker color. It's more of a caramel. That color came from the other truck. But I haven't painted the other door panel yet. So I'm trying to look for a can of that other color.

At this point , make it the way YOU want it and paint them the color you like.

Simplest solution!

I believe mine is the same way. It has darker arm rest pads. The interior color is saddle tan, but obviously the factory uses different colors for different parts.
