I honestly laughed when I read that.

Can anyone tell me how to find the butter toast on a cats back video I posted. I gotta show it to @Rusty Nail

Go to the thread it was in, go up the searchbar, and type your own name. It should show all the things you've posted in that thread, or search for keywords you used in that post, in that thread

I've had good experience with Optima batteries, newer and older versions (now they'll probably all crap out on me tomorrow!). I currently have 2 yellow tops in my suburban, 2 red tops in my rock crawler, and 3 blue tops in my boat. My suburban and rock crawler both have dual battery isolators with manual bypass switches. Neither vehicle is used regularly, and if I keep them in the garage, they will crank right up after months of sitting. If I leave them out in the cold for a while, I just throw a trickle charge on them for a day before I know I'm going to crank them. Batteries seem to be something that people have very strong opinions about based on past experiences. Some have good experiences, some have bad.

If you stick a bagel in a regular toaster will it get stuck and start a fire?

Think of it like this, the last of the optimas of high quality are now just getting to their age of.. well... too weak or low capacity etc. people who have the good ones are gonna have a good opinon and maybe buy another, then to find it die in 2 years and then they will not touch the brand. ITs hard when a loyalty is made over such a long period that once it comes time to cash in the loyalty built, it fools the customer and then that quick cash grab is unlikely to work again.

So if you have an optima thats good, it might still be good. but you buy a new one, it might suck

also, as someone who sold a lot of pennstate batteries, the quality was OK. But i did notice a trend in returns.. people brought their batteries back because they were often "just" too weak like yeah it needed a boost but if it was 10 deg warmer it wouldnt and its only 2 years old etc. Im not inclined to think these people are all just criminally dumb and didnt notice their charging systems magically werent enough but somehow still charged their battery for daily use. Most of these batteries brought in froze. They get bulged out the bottom. I have a few frozen batteries that I bought, were charged, and put on machines or vehicles and that very same few month winter have evidence of freezing.
I also noticed some evidence of gettingtoo hot in the summer and i think the likely scenario was the batteries were either too hot and boiled their electrolyte over time or the winters were too harsh and the battery electrolyte and charge werent enough for winter not to freeze em. THe batteries frequently fell in a period of either 6 months or 4 years with variations and such in between. Penn state kept sending messages presumably to all buyers of their batteries to inspect the cause of return and that most batteries are simply "undercharged' and would work just fine again when charged. And would not warranty if the number of "fine" batteries became too high for a given customer like a store. And frozen batteries means the customer didnt use their battery right so dont warranty it. New batteries were frequently 1-2 months old at time of purchase as well. Not many of their batteries had removeable caps, only some of the legacy ones.
so as far as it goes, id say penn state just doesnt care about freshness and internal heat management of the batteries and thats how it is

Which battery would fry a cats ass faster! Does the ground cable go in it's mouth or ass? I can't remember.
