I got a variety of stuff... lifted, stock, raked,

Now its time for lowered slightly

No way I'd lift a 2wd anyways? I guess I'll just be a h o m o with my 2/4 :33:
Agreed. Variety is what keeps life interesting :)

lol you're getting way too upset over a joke. My first post was serious, the second post I made was in response to Old77's thumbs down emoji. That's why I included a winky face and everything...

And I don't speak spanish, but I'm assuming "amigo" translates to "guy I am secretly attracted to" or something like that? Flattered, but I just don't think of you like that, Kev. It's okay we're all friends here, we'll all still respect you when you finally do feel comfortable enough to come out of that closet of yours :waytogo:
We’re not allowed to have fun here. Please, serious posts only

This thread is about to turn into a train wreck hahahahahha
:Wedgie:

Fear not guys, I got a family, 3 kids, multiple squarebodies, im a blue collar worker , i got a 1 ton s10 on 39.5" boggers and all the other "macho man" stuff

I don't think lowering the c10 a little makes me a gay man lol
I've had trucks lifted more than most are comfortable with.

But I will say, a 2/4 is subtle enough, most people maybe wouldn't notice it, and with the big block in there, its already dropped the front down 2" hahahahaha

It was more aerodynamic related.

I've drove the c10 at a max of 127mph thus far, it really didn't scare me at all as it handled reallllyyyy nicely for a 1979 , BUT I think dropping it a tad would make it have less "sway" I suppose is why I wanted to do it.

4/6 isn't my gig, but I did consider it.

But that's I guess too deep of a project with frame notching and tubbing it, changing headers and suspension geometry... I'm trying to get it actually road ready, maybe later down the road I would.

It's all good I'm just busting balls. Do what you want, it's your truck. A lower center of gravity should make it more stable at high speeds not to mention a little more aerodynamic having less air lifting up under it. I got some slightly lowered stuff in my driveway too, just not trucks, that ain't my thing.

A 2" drop does not make you gay, unless of course it's just the rear and there is also a 4" lift up front... That would be gayer than two men kissing.

When I lowered my '82 with the BB 402 I also tried different front springs because of the weight difference. Raised it too much. What did work was to add air bags in the front coils. Only needed about 25 PSI to keep everything in line.

About the sway issue, I replaced the stock sway bar with the heavier 3500 bar. I lowered my truck 4/6 with different front "A" arms and coils. To line up the bar I removed one bar frame mount, slid the bar on top of the other frame mount. Then mounted the bar on the top side of both frame mounts.

My opinion do the spindle (squarebody spindles are 2.5" too btw), the spring you like but cut 1 coil off for another 2". Flip kit in the back, this will be less work and only slightly lower than your planning right now. If the flip kit is to low you can always add a lift shackle to get the rear back up. Hangers are a bear to install an I always try to avoid them if at all possible.

Plus you'll always want to go lower once you start anyhow...

For your front end rebuild use all Moog stuff for best results. Stock replacement KYB GR2 shocks all around an you'll have a decent ride too.

See, I did a total overhaul on my burb with moog stuff up front, and ACdelco shocks, coilover shocks in the front, moog suspension coils, it rides and handles more safely than my car does lol

So I planned to repeat that.

As far as the lowering hardware, I appreciate that tip.

As far as drop spindles go, stay moderate unless you will be purchasing larger diameter rims.

A 2.5" drop will still permit you to retain 15" diameter rims, however you need to ensure the edge of the rim does not contact the control arm when in sharp turns. This issue is exacerbated with increased drop in the spindle and is only remedied with larger diameter rims - think 18".

Sagging springs will require a proper wheel alignment to ensure minimal tire wear and will restore safety to the steering geometry.

If you vehicle has any appreciable mileage on it, check the condition of the steering box, the linkage and the suspension bushings, as this will be the time to correct what is needed.

A safe vehicle is the responsibility of each and every one of us. Not just some random person at the DMV.

I like the banter back and forth in this thread, lol.

I'm in the same boat with my stepside truck. I want to keep the sleeper look, but I've never been able to make a decision on whether or not to lower it, and how much if so. 2"-4" was always a plan because it could still look kind of stock, but as Bluex pointed out, ~4"-5" would be much easier to do.

At any rate, whatever you decide to do Vince, I'll likely end up copying you lol.

Came here to find pictures of a truck lowered 2/4 and now I am beginning to wonder if my marriage is a mistake.
