It can be, I put one from an S10 blazer in mine. The mpg readouts are not accurate though an the distance to empty only works on 98+...

I tested out the CD player in the truck today and it actually worked 
I assumed it'd be broke since most of those original CD players in the GMT's stop working. BONUS!!!

Well it looks like the first step of this project has been decided for me. I was cleaning the truck up earlier in the week (I think Sunday) and I noticed rust starting on the roof along the edge that meets the windshield. So I'll be doing the body work on this truck first and due to expenses at this time I'm just keeping it the stock color scheme but may change it later on down the road per my original "to-do" list. Due to my limited bodywork skills I'll be having a shop take care of this fix as that area is very difficult to do correctly and I definitely want it correct. So I'll be dropping it off at the shop in a couple of weeks.
