Hey y'all!

My truck has this old bedliner in it. (I inherited it from my Grandpa this way.) It's been in there about 20 years or more. It's very functional, but I worry and wonder if it's damaging the old bed underneath more than it protects it. Has anyone ever had one of these and is it a worry I should have? I know I could just pull it out and look, but I worry that it won't come out easy and if it does it wouldn't go back as well as it is now.

It's wet in the pic because I had just washed it. It doesn't leak, by the way.

It looks in good shape but never can tell unless you pull it out. It does not look like it would be that hard to pull out. The bed liners that wrap underneath the top rail of the bed are more difficult to pull out.

It will come out easily, over the rail bedliners typically installed with some screws and twist to lock anchors. Usually the only "damage" caused by drop in bedliners is that they will rub the paint off the bed floor.

It can go either way, I've seen some trucks that are mint underneath those other than rubbed through paint and I've seen some where the plastic liner was the only floor left at all. Won't know till ya pull it and look. That one shouldn't be a problem, looks like a handful of hardware and yank it out.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll yank it out and see what's what. I'm just nervous about what I might find...

I had one in my truck for years. When I pulled it out it was mint underneath.

At the risk of hijacking this post...I've been trying to locate a vendor for that style bedliner, but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions?

Nice color truck!
Lol have you peeked under it? Truck like that I’m sure it’s mint.
They help more than they hurt generally unless seriously neglected. doubtful it’s rusted underneath. A truck that clean anyway.
Why don’t you look at it? Not near you?

I'm shocked you can still buy those new for these trucks
