Hey all,

Happy 4th :biggun::drink_nl::party33::patriot::cheers:

On this joyous day, I just finished an intake manifold swap on my SBC from the OEM cast iron to the Edelbrock 2101 in chrome. Looks great, runs better. Did a top end paint job while I was in there too.

Anyhow, the new manifold is slightly taller than the OEM, and now my cold air intake tube and my passenger side valve cover vent are too short to reach the air filter housing.

Despite my searching I can't seem to find anywhere to get a longer vent tube and cold air intake tube.

Anybody know where I can get these? Or a fix to make the OEMs work?

Thanks :waytogo:

Mine was missing on my truck when I purchased it, so I ordered a new one from LMC. When it arrived, I found out the tube is for a SBC, not a BBC. I found this silicone tube from Summit Racing for about $30 bucks.

I cut the OEM tube and slid the stock tube inside. I still have the beginning of the snorkel attached to the core support, but I removed the little hat for a basic forced induction.

Nice! I'm looking for that whole setup. I want the OEM air cleaner with snorkel sitting on top of my Pro-flo throttle body.

Vent tube? The breather on the passenger side rear that goes to the air cleaner assembly? Cut the tube and put a piece of heater hose to whatever length you need for it to reach. Had to do that when I swapped to vortec heads.

Cool! I'll look around on Summit and LMC. Mine is original and getting kind of chipped up so it might just be time for a new one.

Not knowing what your current set up looks like, here's a potential option on the breather tube. It's $10.

Dang email notifications... not giving me notifications. I would have replied sooner. Sorry y'all.

My current one looks like this - I'll have to go out and measure the dimensions though.

@Nonstop that may actually work for a 73-80 truck. I forgot the 81-87 was 3" longer.
