Ok I removed the internal carb fuel filter and spring. And I noticed my choke was almost all the way shut so I clocked it all the way open. I have a noticeable power loss but I'm trying to get it to miss or hesitate like before and I can't seem too. It did a pull from 40-70 in 3rd no problem. This is maybe 10 min after I could barely drive it at all

How old are the rubber parts of the fuel line. Some people have reported on forums where the line collapsed at high flow rates, or there were loose pieces flapping inside that acted to clog the line at high flow rates.

Having fuel pressure when the engine is not running makes me wonder about fuel tank venting. Does yours have vent lines? If not, is the cap vented?

I will look into all that this weekend but I do believe I found the problem. I was thinking it wasn't getting enough fuel but it looks like my choke was closing randomly and it was getting to much fuel, explains why it never actually died on me.

I appreciate all the help and suggestions. Ill post up if anything else happens.

Could be either a linkage disconnected somewhere, or an intermittent connection on the electric choke. Bad connector on the choke wire, or dirty connector, or frayed/broken wire, intermittent fuse (yep, seen those),....

Just saw this so thought id update for anyone else in the future. It was in fact bent linkage from the choke. Stuck open it never did again. She's totaled now but that fixed my problem.

Blew an inner sidewall on my tire going down a back road. Went into the ditch which would have been no big except there was a concrete water drain in it. Ripped the whole front end out and messed up the frame. It had been rolled before so it's just done.
I'm waiting to finish some other projects but hopefully by this time next year ill have the drivetrain and running gear rebuilt and swapped into a 2000 and up grand cherokee(WJ)

Oh ya I'm good. I was only going maybe 20 so I was fine. Just perfect conditions to get the truck. I swear that thing was cursed though. Lol

Picked up a 77gmc and now I'm having problems with the flex plate/torque converter. Lol
