Good Day. The np208c transfer case in my 85 K10 is leaking and works fine. I picked up a spare 27 spline np208c transfer case to rebuild. It works fine on the bench . Case looks good and shifts ok. I would like to get a gasket set for it. I don't like liquid gaskets. There are many different rebuild kits ranging from $17.00 up to $130.00. I don't see any with gaskets. At least not the big one . Confused here. Has anyone been through this ?
Thanks in advance for any info.

$25 and it appears to have the "big one".

I think he's talking about the big full case gasket where you split the case. I've not been able to find a kit with it either.

I think that if he wants a gasket between the casing halves, he'll have to make one. The faces of the casing halves are machined surfaces and don't require a gasket - just a light coat of sealant. A gasket was never available as an OEM spare part. Matter of fact, use of a gasket might alter some internal clearances. If he does make a gasket, it should be cut out of very thin material - like chart paper for example.

Right, I believe that's what he's wanting and I don't think it exists.
