Does anyone know where I can find a replacement column gear shift lever for a 79 C10 without tilt? I can find them all day for a tilt column, but not a non-tilt.

That was OEM P/N 3990498 - for your specific truck.

However, GMPartsWiki shows the P/N indicated above as having replaced P/N 6272365.

That lever with the later P/N is available here for $149:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-80-CH...MARO-CAPRICE-SHIFTER-GM-3990498-/223179195051

The same lever (presumably) with the earlier P/N is available here for $44:

Looks correct, but don't trust me - do your own research.

Does the upper part of that form show 73-75?

If any of you have one to sell that is new or in like new condition, email me at [email protected] with pictures and be sure to include a close up of the end that goes into the collar. Here is what my old one looks like. Its the pattern of the teeth that are important because they lock into different positions in the bowl in each gear.

Charlie, isn't this what you are looking for? It's NOS and only $44 - I doubt you'll find one at a better price:

Yeah I didn’t realize you had one...
why not get it refinished if you’re worried about it being pretty?

It works, but it's pitted with rust and I figured I could find another one cheaper than refinishing it.

Steel wool works wonders on rust. I had very small spots of rust. Cleaned well with steel wool, worked great. I only had 4/0.
