I have these rims on my k20 and I was wondering if there was any way I could put the mid 2000s style chrome hub caps on them. They are fairly thick so idk if they would go on like they do on the stock wheels for this trucks.

The issue I see with them is your only going to have complete back ones, the front you will have to cut out for the lock outs
These usually attach by spring tension and possibly will just pop on the lug nuts, but I've not messed with them enough to be sure

Yeah I knew I would have to cut out for the hubs and I don’t the black lugs on these screw onto the lug nuts?

The 90's style did, they had lugs with thread on the outsides that secured them, I've not messed with this particular style, if they are threaded they may not work with your wheel due to the size of the lugs

You'd need the fancy outside threaded lugs and from here, your wheels don't look like they would work with that style of lug nut.

Ok, that’s what I was wondering. I knew I would need those lugs. I can picture what the truck would look like with those caps and I think it would look nice.

I agree those caps would go well with those rims.

The only issue you may run into is the new lug nut may not be long enough to catch the treads on the inside of the black lug nuts on the caps. Your rims look thicker than the oem style aluminum rim.

Also, there are 2 diameters of chrome caps for 2000 and up wheels. The ones pictured above are for chrome clad steel wheels. You will notice in my picture the lugs bulge out. These are for the oem aluminum wheels. I ran into this issue when I changed the wheels to alloys on my '01 GMC 2500HD. The above cap does not fit in the recessed center of the oem wheel. My truck is at the transmission shop or I'd give you that measurement.

Just for clarification, I only have the 2000 & up wheels on my truck, not the center caps. They should be done with my truck by middle of next week.

So to clarify, the cap with the slight bulge around the circumfrence is for the steel wheel? My friend (in Israel) has chrome steel wheels that may have a chrome decorative cover. I only saw the truck briefly, but hope to see it again before I head back to the states. I did see a cap offered on eBay that said it fit both alloy and steel wheels. I'll see if I can find the listing.

^^^Those wheels there are the factory chrome wheels, that's just how they were made. The aftermarket chrome "gussy up" covers are thick and ugly.


And I never knew there was a difference in the caps.

I didn’t either. Does anyone know exactly what the difference between the caps is?
