Hello all,
I got myself a 1973 chevy cheyenne with 350. Been wrenching since I was 8 (not telling my age now but I am OLD) so I know some stuff but this rebuild is going to have alot of question. Someone else's problem has become mine. I was told the engine runs but the truck won't brake. So here we go trying to get started.
Thank you all in advance.

Welcome!

Check the rear end to see if it’s a 14 bolt FF, which are used on the high GVW C20’s.

Brake work on a FF is harder because you have to pull the axles to get the drums off or replace a wheel cylinder, so it gets ignored for many years. You might just have a really bad wheel cylinder leak. The rest of the braking system is pretty standard.

Another common issue with no brakes is a blown seal in the master cylinder, so you get no pressure. It’s relatively easy to fix, and the master cylinder is not expensive. Also check the flexible lines to each wheel, for cracks or leaks.
