How did that nice 3/4 ton find itself across the pond ?

We were looking for an American pickup truck (because only American people know how to make pickup truck) for few years but couldn’t find a good opportunity. Earlier this year, in May, we had a love at the first sight, good looking body and good price. We bought it right away and received it in October. That’s our first American car, and we hope to others in the future.

How much is fuel is France ?

That's too cool, though - bet you won't see too many others running around like it.

Downside is that I doubt you will be pulling parts at a local Pick a Part ..

Sadly, I am in the same boat there in Houston, TX.

They all want to sell the newer stuff.

It's a junkyard, for crying out loud ... That's where the old stuff is supposed to be.

The fuel costs way too much.....About €1.60 per liter which makes it like $6.85 per gallon....

Regarding parts, of course we need to import them from the USA and you guys have so many websites and stores for your cars, so that's quite easy to get parts. And the prices are very suitable even with the delivery and customs taxes. Although there are actually a lot of oldies specialists in France and they are also a few US cars specialists. I recently found a guy that is selling only windshields for oldies (VW, Peugeot, Citroen, BMW, Porsche etc...) and he has some for my pickup truck.

What I like in the US, is that you can still see a lot of oldies still used as daily drives. Which is not very common here in France.
US are a country of cars, you guys have so many brands, and your love for cars is huge. French culture isn't about car loving. I wish we could have junkyards as yours here in France....
