Congratulations.

One suggested upgrade, if it hasn't already been done, is to swap in an HEI distributor. HEI started in '75 as standard, so its an easy upgrade that really simplifies your ignition maintenance.

Your truck should be a TH350 and NP203, which may still be full-time 4WD, or may have been converted. Despite the chain drive, the unconverted NP203 is still extremely durable. The only downside is that there are a lot of parts moving all the time, so gas mileage suffers. However, its a great transfer case if you drive much in snow or mud and always want good traction.

How can I tell if it’s been converted? Just see if it’s a different transfer case?
