I’ve never seen one that wasn’t converted

Personally I like the full time 4WD
What's a good transfer case to swap out to? If swapped, could I get rid of the manual locking hubs?

If it has locking hubs installed , it has probably been converted to part time already. Full timers didn't have locking hubs.

Locking hubs are a telltale sign of a converted NP203. The converted case is okay, but must be run in 4WD about once a month to ensure oil circulation through the entire case. Most folks forget about this.

If you don't want to lock/unlock hubs, you might be able to convert your NP203 back to full time AWD and install standard hubs. The part-time NP203 conversion is a fairly quick job, so I assume that converting back is not that hard. However, I've never seen an article on how to do it.

If it had Warn type front hubs, it's most likely been converted.

Hard part is gonna be finding the right pieces to put it back. Most of that stuff got tossed at some point

The 203 is a good case. It looks like you still have the original full time plates based on your picture, it's hard to tell. If you have hubs like photo #1 then you still have a locked front axle. Photo #2 is what the part time hubs look like for your truck. Photo #3 is the part time kit for the 203.

I've used Mile Marker in a couple of my trucks with no issues.

After re-reading this thread one things sticks out to me and that is the overt revelry.
It's exciting news brother, that sure is an extremely capable truck - build quality like that is a thing of the long past.
It's almost like the caliber of gentlemen we have chosen to associate with in this place. There is a lot of high quality knowledge about these trucks , here.

Wash her up, look her over, go drive it around and see what you think! When you get finished you can tell. us. because we all want to know!

Congratulations. Good luck to you both.
