Have had a few square body C-10's over the years. Had a one owner 1985 V6 with the 400 trans that was a real nice truck - pulled a trailer too - just had to respect those hills ! Have a few others and also a 1972 GMC 1500.

First step is admitting your issues. This is a decent outlet. But maybe see a counselor as well?

Welcome from the land of rust! (New England)

Also, a 1972 would have been a c/k10, not a 1500. Calling a 1/2 ton truck a 1500 was a new thing with the GMT400 (starting in 1988), prior to that a 1/2 ton was a 10 (C10 for 2wd, K10 for 4wd), 20 was a 3/4 ton (equivalent for 2500), 30 for 1 ton (3500), etc...

But welcome aboard nontheless!

You seem to have forgotten about the far superior and "ahead of it's time" GMC.

As far as I know they started the 1500, 2500 stuff in 1968.
I may be wrong, but I've never once seen a truck pre 1988 that said 1500 on it

I don't claim to know all, maybe the heavy halfs were c/k 15s, but still no regular half ton was a "chevy 1500" as far as I knew. If I am wrong I'm not afraid to admit it, I just really never heard of it, and I've been around GM trucks my whole life. All of a sudden these last few years I hear dudes saying "oh yeah I just got an '84 chevy 2500" because they bought an old 3/4 ton truck and don't know enough to call it a K20 because that sounds "weird" to them...
