Hey Guys just picked up an 84 C10 shortbed straight six with manual everything. Three on the tree converted to floor by PO.
Its a one owner truck with 95K on it.
I have a Trailblazer with a 5.3 with 110K with a rusty frame that will be a donor eventually as its my daily right now.
So for now its body work, paint and driving it.
Its been painted at 3 least times and the paint is so thick that it is cracking and peeling off. Lots of sanding ahead of me.

Welcome! You'll enjoy that 5.3, I've got an Envoy (same truck) engine in my truck. With a cam and custom tune, they make plenty of power to have fun with

Welcome from Austria. We want pics.

Sanding the hood, how many layers do you see on this ONE owner truck? I count at least 6. Ha ha this is going to have to be sand blasted some day but not now just rattle can until the swap.

Id chemically strip it,one panel at a time, then prep and epoxy prime that panel. As an experiment pour a small pool of lacquer thinner on the hood, roof, some where and wait 10 minutes or so,then take a scraper to it,don't get too aggressive with the scraper. If you are very lucky all the repaints have been enamel, the lacquer thinner will get you down to O.E. paint, but it will leave the O.E paint, which if it's in fair condition can be sanded and left as base for a repaint.
