Hey everyone, new guy here from North East Texas. My wife and I picked up an '86 C20 Suburban, 454/TH400. My wife has always wanted a square body Suburban so after a few years I gave in, sold a couple of project cars and replaced them with this big ol brute. Her father had a couple when she was growing up and loved it.

This isn't my first Sqaurebody or GM but I haven't owned a squarebody in 18 years or so, had an '82 C10 in my younger days and have had multiple other GM's throughout the years. When we were purchasing it I expressed to my wife " Oh hell it won't be difficult to find parts for it, it's a squarebody ", boy have I ate those words a few times. 18 years ago I had a great salvage yard at my disposal that I visited at least once a week. Mid to late 80's big block trucks are bastard years. I cannot for the life on me locate HR6 compressor brackets, I am likely going to have to build some.

Anyway here are a couple pictures from the day we picked her up, drove it back from Oklahoma 200 miles without a hitch so that was a plus, although not having AC wasn't fun as I've become spoiled with our modern stuff.

Welcome from West TX! Very nice Burb, clean and well taken care of! When I recently picked up my '83 the fuel gauge was on E so I didn't know if it was actually on E or sending unit was out. I drove to the nearby station and filled up, found the gauge to work. Needless to say I had a little pep in my step the rest of that day lol. Definitely appreciating the small things and conveniences we have in the newer models!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Happy to be here!

And I appreciate the kind words about the ol burb. She's got a couple little bumps and bruises but nothing major. Interior is 99% complete, just need to get a tire for the spare haha!

Oh yeah it will take some getting used to not having an estimated amount of miles until empty, gotta look at the gauge. We took her out Saturday night to get food and had to top it off, needless to say I don't look forward to filling up a 40 gallon tank! 31 or so gallons was $96 bucks! Yikes!

Welcome from Celina TX and good looking rig! One Burb owner to another. Starting to see more and more squares in TX. We lived out east in Quitman and there were tons of square daily drivers, whole lot different than all the luxury cars in Collin county.
