Yes I've spent several hours in the car, with multiple interior parts off to check several places while it was pouring rain. Under the dash, the windshield, door seals etc are all good. At the moment I expect it's some failed or badly applied seam sealer at the base of the windshield. The problem is that to get to it I think I'll need to pull the fender which involves also pulling the bumper an the side skirt. I dont want to get that deep in it but with the way the water flows off the windshield/roof it can only be a few places an they are all in that area. I sealed up some areas that I could get to the other day but it didn't help any....
I had a 2004 Yukon with a sunroof that leaked similar to yours. I never could find it, new windshield, cleaned out all the sunroof drains, door seals were good. Traded it to a buddy and it ended up being exactly what you said. Seam sealer at the firewall had dried out and cracked out of whatever area it was in. They chiseled it out, applied more and fixed the leak. I think he said there was actually 2 spots of sealer they suspected, one in the engine bay and one under the dash. It was back in the corner under part of the fender, kind of on the side of the cowl.

Well after calling around to the local dealers an getting no real help I tackled the water leak myself (I hope)

I took everything apart an dug around in the suspected area some an then borrowed an inspection camera from a friend. I sealed the area up after verifying that's where the water was getting in an retested. It seems I got it so we will see. I haven't had the carpet on the dr side in about 2 months letting everything dry out. Hopefully if it stays dry I can finally reassemble the interior an not worry about it anymore.

The local dealers all wanted a 3-500 deposit before looking at it an charged 120-135/hr with no kind of guarantee that they could even fix it.....

It was getting in the interior here at the white push pin that's out near the top left of the first picture.

The second picture shows the first place I thought it was getting in. There was a weird plug that didn't fit well there an I thought that could be it. So I put in a new plug an double sealed it lol. Nearly all the water from the cowl an windshield area drains out there.

I hope I got it, I really just wanted to enjoy this car not have something else with issues that needed attention

Oh believe me if this doesn't get it I'll be sealing the hole in the interior, an drilling one in the bottom of that area so the water can get back out an sending it down the road. I'm over it, I really didn't want to get that deep in it but I also didn't want to let it beat me lol.

To be honest heres what helped sell me on it.

The LX platform has been out a while an is actually a carry over from the damiler/MB days. Its pretty proven by now, though plenty of motorsports sites will say it's worn/outdated etc.

The ZF trans design is also pretty widely used in the industry from fiat/Chrysler to MB to us here at bmw an idk who all else so I knew its a good unit as well.

That leaves the Hemi, which from what I can tell is a reliable unit also, minus the MDS lifters eating cam lobes which is also common to GM DOD so no biggie there.

Couple those things with this one being a 1 owner car with a clean history an service records going back to day 1 an I'm pretty confident it'll be good to me. I have been wrong before though!

I think you made a good choice. We had a 06 SRT8 Charger, bought used, ran up to 140xxx miles. Virtually no issues. Only repair besides reg maint was front struts, electric fans crapped out and the radiator leaked. Both easy repairs. When we sold it, a few of the console lights were burnt out and it needed tie rods and probably ball joints. To be expected after 140k of ****** WA freeways and stiff suspension and hard low profile tires. Drivetrain was 100% flawless.
Have a 2016 now. Only have about 35k miles on it. Only issue (same as old car) has been a radiator leak. New rad under warranty.
The 5 speed MB trans in the 06 was awesome. The 8 speed ZF is in a league of it's own. There's auto transmissions out now in recent years that are as smooth and intuitive, but I don't know of any that will shift as fast as the 8HP. 0.16-0.18 sec full power lock to lock shifts!
And in track mode, if you hammer the brakes, it'll keep up downshifting as fast as you're decelerating and be in the right gear when you mash the throttle again.

If the first one was a money pit I wouldn't have bought another one.

Well, nice work, I hope you got it fixed for good. I HATE these type of things.
Beautiful car though, I thought it was new when I saw your posts but apparently it's out of warranty?

FWIW, I'm told it's a pretty common problem, the coolant leak I had. If your car seems to "eat" a little coolant between oil changes, but none dripping, don't freak out that it's burning it. The rad core to side tank can weep fluid and it literally never drips on the floor, never wet in the belly pan. Must only happen at while driving and get's evaporated. Both cars would use at most a half quart of coolant between oil changes. The old car finally got bad enough it was visibly leaking, but this went on for at least 50k miles with just a bit of disappearing coolant.

It's a 2015 I bought with about 56k miles. It has 67k right now. It was a 1 owner, no mods,, no accident, full service record from dodge type deal so I thought I was pretty safe on it being a good one.

For sure. This sounds like an annoying issue but in my experience these cars are super reliable. And fun!

Plus I love B5 Blue. It was on the want list for colors, but got a serious discount on a GoMango that had sat on the lot for over 18 months.

Baby got some new shoes this week! Probably shouldn't have but I saw them on market place an went to grab them. Water leak has been banished so far. I was given a lower diffuser in a carbon fiber look that I just put on too. Not to sure how I feel about that one yet. I like the look but not the carbon since there's nothing else on the car in carbon.

She's just been doing alot of sitting lately partially due to gas prices an the fact that my wife hasn't been able to drive since Jan. She was in a pretty serious wreck that has left her with issues an the Dr won't let her drive or be alone much either so that's been fun. It easier to for her to get in an out of her suburban so i just drive it all the time instead. Oldest took it to his GF's junior prom too. Spent 45 mins getting the glitter from her dress out of the interior after lol.
