I am wanting to get 32" tires under my v2500 with 2" lift. My wheels are stock steel 6.5" wide with factory 4x4 hub caps. I want to get a tire thats wide for an aggressive stance. Can I get 265 x75 x16 tires on my rims? If so will I be a bit wider then my stock 235's?

Those are the stock 6.5" wide wheels with 265x75x16 tires? I lifted my truck 2" and think the 265s look great. not too wide and not to tall?

Yes, stock 6.5 wheels and 265's, stock suspension.

If the extra $$ doesn't bother you, I would go with some 285's. They will fit your stock wheels and fill out the wheel wells better with your lift. My plan is to do a 2"ish lift and some 305/70-16, or 33x12.5. I saw a truck the other day that had 305/70-16 on 6.5" wide wheels. It was an early 2000 HD model. Those looked to balloonish for me.

These are 265's on my stock '85 K30. It would be equivalent to the 2" lift on your truck. Wheels are 16x6.5".

The tire stores are telling me Its not recommended to use my stock 16x6.5 rims with the 265 tires. I like the look of the 265s on your K30. I figure if I go with some BFG AT's mine will look good. The 285/75/16s stick out quite a bit and thats what im trying to avoid. The tires on my pict below are 235x85x16 - I dont think 33's would fit as good as 32' tires

Your tire stores suck. Don't listen to them. The tire place that did mine never even hinted at it being a problem. I think my 265's on the 6.5" wheels looks great. 285's are crossing to the other side. And 305's are too wide, imo.

Too many tire store chains have too may rules mandated by how many times they have gotten sued by some morons who wanted to blame somebody for their own incompetence. Really helps to have your own equipment or a friend that does!!!!!

I forgot to post about the tires, lol. I really like 285's on a stock 6.5" width rim. It looks good and the wider tire actually helps stability while towing.

wow... looks good is this truck lifted? k20 or k30 do they rub?

Frankenchevy's truck is a stock K30, but would be the same height as yours. Under the picture it says no rubbing. He now has 16x8's with 4" BS and it still doesn't rub. The 235's and 265's are basically the same height, just the section width of the 265 is about an inch wider.

I had a 2001 GMC 2500HD with the OEM 16x6.5 wheels and 285's. I keep the front at 65 LBS and the rears around 35 when unloaded. I aired them up to 65 LBS when I towed my travel trailer as I could feel sidewall flex with the low pressure. Once aired up there would be no issues.

I rotated my tires every 3000 miles so I didn't have issues with the tread centers wearing out prematurely.

Also I think you said you live in Martinez or Concord (My old home town). I worked in Brentwood for years and went to this tire shop there. Looks shady, but gives good deals. They'll pretty much mount anything.

As Craig said—not lifted, but k30. They sit a couple inches higher than a k20. A k20 with a 2-3” lift will sit about the same as a stock k30.

Mine has 35 year old springs under it, so a fresh 2” lift will put you at least at the same height as my old stockers.

I strongly recommend getting the 8 inch rim 8 lug brand new from Summit or Jegs. I did.
