need power window help

[85 CA SIERRA 1500]

Hello,
I have been searching to no avail,,,,is there a write-up or thread that explains step by step on how to get the window and motor back on track.
My drivers window stopped going up and down even though I can clearly hear the motor spinning. The glass can be raised and lowered by hand.

Sounds like the drive in the motor itself has stripped out. That happened to one of mine before.

Hi Bucket,
Thanks for taking the time to jump in,,,,how do I get the assembly out of the door?
I pulled off the inside door panel but can't figure out how to get everything out from inside the door, also things seem to be loose, like a bolt or a weld has decided to quit on me.

here's the link to the 85 service manual section 10-14 has the power window regulator. and it is a pain in the ass to get it out.

I took my doors apart a few weeks ago, as I’m going to do a swap. It’s like a woman and definitely requires some finesse. Unlike all the Japanese cars I’ve been into.
