When i want to open my hood, i pull the hood release cable, but the hood don't lift like it should do helped by the spring.

After pulling hard on the hood, while de-pressing the the lever, i always manage to open the open it, but sometimes it takes me about 15 minutes.

i noticed the cable was quite loose, but there is no set up on it.

there is grease on th locking mecanism, but on the pin in the hood.

Once it has been opened, i can re-open it, but i must pull on the release handle very fast.

Is there some thing to lubicate or to change, to get this hood opening like a new ?

Lube is good, but body flex can make it hard to open the hood also. My '90 was parked in the yard last weekend, I COULD NOT get the hood open. I started it up and drove it about 10 feet before it finally popped.

The latch might need adjusted too, they can hang up if they are a smidge too far off to one side (can't remember which side). Color the hood striker with a bright colored grease pencil, then close the hood. Open the hood and see where the striker is making contact with the latch. Then adjust the latch accordingly.

I find that keeping the Hood springs well greased helps as well. Anywhere you can create less resistance helps.

My '89 always needed a "Fonzie Tap" to open it. Even this one once in a while.

Clean it first. The problem is the dirt stuck in the lubricant. Just cleaned and lubed all of mine today.

standard protocall is to pull release handle and bump the front of hood centrally with palm of your hand to open them. I have 7-8 of them that will only open that way.
